We all buy that beautiful blender with one sole purpose in mind. Normally around the time you think of going on a health kick and start thinking of all the amazing healthy smoothies you can make. And then winter rolls around and it gets stuffed back in or on top of the cupboard to gather dust until next season. But do you know that you can actually use your blender in various ways.

Homemade Whipped Cream
The dreaded hand whisk is enough to get anyone running for the hills. It’s such a workout and so time consuming. Gran you are superwoman for doing this. But luckily your blender will do the job in the fraction of time. All you need for homemade whipped cream is a cup of heavy cream and a teaspoon of vanilla extract and you’re good to go. Mix in the blender until fluffy peaks form.
Using the blender to aerate the eggs really makes them fluffy. So try adding some herbs, a dash of milk and some cheese and vegetables for a healthy breakfast omelette.
Easy Lump Free Pancakes
Remember to use your blender next time you decide to make pancakes. The blender will mix the batter together very quickly and will be lump-free. Have you ever considered making your own almond milk or going dairy free? Using a blender to make almond milk makes the process so much easier. To make almond milk you need to soak the almonds over night in water and then blend them. Strain and then you have delicious healthy almond milk. The pulp ( what’s left over) can be dried out in the oven to make almond flour. Two birds,one stone.
Many people would love to compost but think that you need oodles of time and space to do so. You in fact do not. You can use your blender to make instant compost. You simply take your leftover food scraps and blend them up. Then use this as compost for your lawn or flowers.
The blender is so multi-purpose that you can even keep your body glowing by making body scrub. It will take you less than 5 minutes to make and will leave you invigorated and happy. Place olive oil, salt and any citrus in the blender and blend. You now have a body scrub that is quick and easy to make, but cheap too.
You more than likely already know that you can blend soups in a blender. But did you know that high-powered blenders like a Vitamix will actually blend and warm up your soup simultaneously? This is caused from the heat generated from the blades. If you don’t have a high speed blender then you can still make cold soups or regular soups and then heat them up on the stove top or in the microwave.

If you haven’t had nut butter before then you haven’t lived! This stuff is delicious and so much healthier than regular peanut butter. It is however quite pricey in stores. So why not make your own at home. Nut butter is very easy to make. You basically need to roast nuts and then blend them. Thats all. Here’s how to make delicious nut butter.
If you want a really good salad, then you need a really good salad dressing. It will easily blend your herbs, spices, garlic and oil to form a delicious dressing that requires little effort. It is especially useful if you are making a creamy dressing.

If you’re stretched for time then you’ll want to skip the pestle and mortar. Place all your herbs or spices (peppercorns, garlic, chilis etc) in the blender and you’re good to go. In less than 2 minutes you’ll have amazing spices that taste delicious for a fraction of regular store bought spices.
